"Skip
Fry"
Watercolor 16
x 22"
All the paintings
on this page were all done on comission. I have been lucky enough to
have people like what I am doing, and ask me to do paintings for them.
Some of these were easy and fun for me to do, and others were more of
a challenge, but I feel honored to have people ask me to do work for
them. I hope everyone likes the painting I have done.

"Cheers"
Watercolor 16
x 22"
The first two
paintings were done based on Ron Stoners beautiful photography. I have
always admired his work, and enjoyed working on these paintings. I like
the feelings he captured, and how he was able to show more than surf
shots, but a time and place as well. It is the same thing I strive for
in my work. This one was changed in the painting to make it a left instead
of the right in the original photo, but I think it is just as effective
in sharing how fun surfing can be.

"The Race"
Watercolor 16
x 22"
This one was a
little harder, because it is something I am not as familiar with, but
Ireally like the way the sails pop out. It is a great composition, and
fun to look st.

"Vacation"
Watercolor 10
x 16"
This one shows
a pretty typical scene at Mission Beach in the summer. There are all
sorts of people around enjoying the sun, the beach, some ice cream,
and looking at each other. The photo this painting is based on is from
a while ago, but things haven't changed much since then.

"The Climb"
Watercolor 12
x 16"
This one seems
like a real departure for me, since there is no water involved. But
how great is it to show someone doing something out of the ordinary,
and doing it well? How many spidermen are out there, who can climb upsidedown
on the rocks? I love the determination on his face, and the contortion
of his legs. I love it when people develop their abilities and passion
for what they love to do.

"The Nose"
Watercolor 10
x 15"
This one is back
to what I usually paint. It was done a while ago as a tribute to the
surfer. But the best part is the fun that the painting shows. Surfing
is the greatest.
