"Sitting Gull"
Watercolor - 11.5 x 15.5"
- $575
This seagull
was sitting in the sand on the same day, so I was lucky that day.
I got to surf a few hours, and had paintings to work on for the next
few days.

"Cleanup Set"
Watercolor - 8 x 12" -
sold
Size is relative.
A six inch witewater wave can be double overhead to something. Maybe
this is my problem trying to surf in San Diego. It isn't that the waves
are usually too small for me. The problem is I am usually too big for
them.

"Soaring Pelican"
Watercolor - 9 x 15" -
$525
When the lifeguarding
season of 2004 was over, I did a lot of wildlife paintings. This was
one of them, and I entered it into the Del Mar Fair art show in 2005.
It didn't win any awards or anything, but it was my favorite painting
in the show.

"Pelican"
Watercolor - 15 x 22"
- $950
But not all
my work is surf culture. I like painting everything around the beach,
as anyone who has seen my work already knows. I entered this painting
in a wildlife art show in September, and was fortunate enough to win
second place with it. Winning an award was fun. I should enter in
more shows.

"Rest"
Watercolor - 6 x 22" -
$300
I hardly ever see these guys
just sitting there resting. Usually they are running around right
at the shoreline - going crazy. In fact this was the first time I
saw them just sitting. I have seen them like this since then, but
this was an ocassion.

"The race
Watercolor - 9 x 11" -
$525 (framed)
Prints Available
I apologize
for this painting. I usually try to stay away from cute or sweet paintings,
but this one just slipped in. It is super cute.

"Butterfly Fish"
Watercolor - 11 x 15"
- $325
I like these
fish, and this painting. When I started painting in watercolor, I did
a lot of paintings of tropical fish. I was in Hawaii at the time, and
it seemed like a good fit. And it was a good way to learn how to paint.

"Shorebirds 1"
Watercolor - 8 x 12" -
$225
These birds
are not easy to get close to. And they don't stand still for long. In
other words, they aren't good models for paintings. But, they are good
looking birds that don't bother anyone.

|
"Shorebirds 2"
Watercolor - 8 x 12 - $225
I have prints of this painting,
and the previous one as well, if anyone is interested.

"Hey, Wait Up"
Watercolor - 7 1/2 x 21"
- $300
I hope I'm not
repeating myself with this painting. It is similar to others I have
done, but I like painting these birds.

|
"Soaring"
Watercolor - 11 x 16"
- $325
More paintings
of pelicans. I can't get enough.

"Little White Rocks"
Watercolor 12 x 16"
- $450
When my wife
and her friends go to the beach, they like to collect cool little
rocks. She has quite a collection of them by now, and they are in
little dishes around the house. I wanted to pay tribute to the cool
rocks and shells they have found. I have to admit, at first I teased
her for her rocks, but I discovered it is fun to find a cool rock
when walking along the beach. I know this isn't wildlife, bit it somehow
ended up in this section.

"Honu 2"
Oil - 9 x 12 - $575
This is one
of my favorite images, so it was only natural to revisit it with a new
medium. I enjoyed swimming with this turtle, and I have enjoyed painting
him again and again.

|
"One Pelican"
Watercolor - 12 x 22"
- $525
I love pelicans.
They look cool flying, diving, sitting, sleeping - whatever. And I like
the way this painting turned out
|

|
"Sanderlings"
Watercolor - 12
x 16"
Some more little sanderlings.
Always running away from waves that are chest high to them. |

|
"Wet Cobbles"
Watercolor - 12 x 16"
Whene I do a
painting now, I think if it could go in the childrens book I am working
on about a day at the beach through my kids eyes. I like this painting,
and it may end up in the book. Even though my kids have never stacked
rocks.
